Online Discussion Leader
GPI US is seeking Discussion Leaders who are interested in gaining valuable experience with Japanese high school students participating in our virtual/blended learning programs. *Please note that this is an online position.*
Actively engaging in discussions to help students improve communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and cultural and global awareness.
Encouraging the Japanese students to express their own opinions and ask questions.
Working effectively in a team with the other Discussion Leaders and GPI staff and following instructions from the designated Head Coordinator or Facilitator.
May include providing feedback on student presentations
Submitting any required videos (including 1-2 minute introduction video) in advance so that students can get to know you.
Interest in global education & Japanese culture. Experience living abroad is a plus.
Fluent English speaking and writing ability (no Japanese language skill required).
Ability to confidently lead discussion sessions, be flexible, and make quick, educated decisions.
Experience leading breakout discussions is a plus!
Have a reliable internet connection able to support video conferencing via an online or app-based platform (i.e. Zoom).
Attend mandatory virtual training sessions.
Login 15 minutes prior to each session’s start for check-in and tech testing, and join 5-minute debrief after each session.
