Drucker For Future Leaders

In collaboration with Drucker Institute and TOMODACHI Initiative, we coordinate one week Leadership Program, Drucker for Future Leaders Program (DFL) for TOMODACHI Initiative program alumni at Claremont Colleges (Claremont, CA).  We had the second TOMODACHI Initiative DFL Program in July, 2014.

The Drucker for Future Leaders (DFL) Session is an Introduction to Management that empowers high school students to be more effective in their own pursuits and to bring about positive change in their communities. DFL trains students to put that knowledge into action to achieve results.

DFL students learn how to identify opportunities for impact in their own long-term academic, personal, and professional ambitions. It then arms the students with practical and time-tested tools to effectively pursue those opportunities.

This theory-based yet results-driven perspective could not be more relevant today. Innovation, the lifeblood of the modern global economy, depends on the systematic and purposeful application of knowledge to “define what new knowledge is needed, whether it is feasible, and what has to be done to make knowledge effective,” Drucker wrote. DFL shows students how to begin taking the knowledge that they’ve acquired in school and put it into their hands, where they can act on it.

About Drucker Institute The Drucker Institute at Claremont Colleges is a social enterprise whose mission is strengthening organizations to strengthen society. It does this by turning Peter Drucker’s ideas and ideals into tools that are both practical and inspiring. Major corporate CEOs, social sector leaders, government officials, middle managers and even high school students all use these tools to be better at what they do.
